KSP 80 HD 2 by KITE OPTICS

The Premier Digiscoping Scope

When optics make all the difference

Digiscoping is all about detail. Whether it’s a kingfisher in backlight, a sandpiper among the reeds, or a Sardinian warbler perched on the bloom of a torch aloe – capturing these moments demands a scope that makes no compromises. The KSP 80 HD 2 by KITE OPTICS delivers exactly that: optical performance at the highest level, on par with the most respected names in the industry.

Precision through ED glass and MHR Advance+ coating

The 80 mm objective of the KSP 80 HD 2 uses specially selected ED glass (Extra Low Dispersion), virtually eliminating chromatic aberrations – those colour fringes that appear at high-contrast edges. The result: true-to-life colours, crisp contrast and sharpness that holds up even under demanding digital post-processing.

This imaging quality is further enhanced by the MHR Advance+ multi-layer coating, which maximises light transmission to 85%. Especially in those decisive moments – early morning or just before dusk – that difference is clearly visible.

The wide-angle zoom eyepiece: flexible observation, precise photography

The included WA zoom eyepiece (25–50×) is optimised for everyday digiscoping use. At 25× magnification it offers a generous field of view that makes locating subjects easier and enables spontaneous shots. The stepless zoom up to 50× allows identification of distant individuals at species level or close-up smartphone photography – with no loss of quality, no need to refocus.

Built for fieldwork

The KSP 80 HD 2 is not a fair-weather scope. The full rubber armouring protects against impacts and ensures a secure grip even in wet conditions. Nitrogen filling prevents internal fogging, and IPX7 certification guarantees full waterproofing. With an operating temperature range from −20 °C to +55 °C, it’s a reliable companion in any conditions – from coastal birding in November storms to steppe expeditions in midsummer heat.

The solid tripod mount provides stable support for smartphone photography and video – whether on a heavy professional tripod or a lightweight travel model.

30-year guarantee – Quality that lasts

KITE OPTICS backs the KSP 80 HD 2 with a 30-year guarantee. This is not a marketing statement – it’s a genuine expression of confidence in the materials, craftsmanship and long-term durability of the product. Invest once, enjoy for decades.
